John 3:16

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Commentary; This promise from God, that whoever believes in Jesus The Christ should not perish but have everlasting life is perhaps the most significant promise we could hope to stand upon! Irrespective of health, financial or other of this physical world's realities you may be struggling with right now, understand that once you leave this fallen world to go be with The Father, you have His promises of eternal life outside of the pain and suffering that you may be presently experiencing!

Proverbs 28:20

A faithful person will be richly blessed, but one eager to get rich will not go unpunished.

Commentary; Often times, when a person focuses too much on creating wealth, they do it at the loss of their walk with our Lord. Keep a correct balance in your life and don't forget that Our Lord controls EVERYTHING in this world.

Proverbs 1:7

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,
but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Commentary; Once a person begins following the Lord's precepts it becomes very clear to them the wisdom He bestows upon us through His teachings.

Proverbs 2:6-8

For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding. He holds success in store for the upright, He is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for He guards the course of the just and protects the way of His faithful ones.

Commentary; To become one of the Lord's "faithful ones" requires you acknowledge that He is Lord and Master, and that you genuinely believe in Him!

Mark 4:21-22

He said to them, “Do you bring in a lamp to put it under a bowl or a bed? Instead, don’t you put it on its stand? For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open.

Commentary; Our Lord Jesus very clearly instructs us that all secrets will be made known! Accordingly, confess your uncomplimentary secrets and begin living your life so that our Father God is glorified!

Mark 4:24

“Consider carefully what you hear,” He continued. “With the measure you use, it will be measured to you—and even more.

Commentary; Our Lord Jesus teaches us that how we treat others is how we can expect to be treated!

Proverbs 6:16-19

These six things the Lord hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him:

A proud look,
A lying tongue,
Hands that shed innocent blood,
A heart that devises wicked plans,
Feet that are swift in running to evil,
A false witness who speaks lies,
And one who sows discord among brethren.

Commentary; Make sure that you do not fall into one of these traps as our Lord Jesus will not look favorable upon those who do.

Mark 7:15

Nothing outside a person can defile them by going into them. Rather, it is what comes out of a person that defiles them.”

Commentary (derived from Jesus Himself in Mark 7:20-23); Jesus declared in verse 7:15 that all foods are OK. He went on: “What comes out of a person is what defiles them. For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and defile a person.”

Luke 7:50

Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”

Commentary; Jesus forgave the sins of the woman washing His feet with her hair, much to the dismay of those there with Him. He correctly instructs us that as long as we have faith in Him, we can be saved.

Mark 9:23

“‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”

Commentary; You must believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God, if you are to have His miracles work in your life!

Mark 10:24-25

The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus said again, “Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”

Commentary; Jesus made this statement because many wealthy people, but not all, tend to worship money to the exclusion of worshiping God. It is easy to get "sucked in" to the majority of the physical world's focus on making of money to the exclusion of honoring our Father God.

Mark 11:25-26

“And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.”

Commentary; If you want our Father God to forgive you of your sins, you must FIRST forgive those who have sinned against you; those to whom you are holding their sins towards you against them!

Mark 12:38-40

As he taught, Jesus said, “Watch out for the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and be greeted with respect in the marketplaces, and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets. They devour widows’ houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. These men will be punished most severely.”

Commentary; It is not uncommon for us to hear of a flamboyant minister/preacher being revealed as being less than genuine. Our Father God will address those who are shown to be so, but we are to be careful not to be drawn in by their dishonest attempts to manipulate us.

Mark 13:12-13

“Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child. Children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death. Everyone will hate you because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.”

Commentary; Our Lord Jesus provides a glimpse as to what the final days will be like, and it won't be pretty. However, He does provide the promise that those who will remain genuine believers until the very end will receive salvation!

Mark 13:31

“Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.”

Commentary; Our Lord Jesus reconfirms the promise that there will be an end to the world as we know it. But He also reconfirms to those who genuinely believe in Him that His words will never end!

Proverbs 11:2

When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.

Commentary; If you find yourself using the pronouns "I", "my" or "me" frequently, such as "you can't do that to me" or " what about my needs", then you may be on the cusp of allowing pride to creep into your life. Be sensitive to the blessings of humility!

Proverbs 11:5

The righteousness of the blameless makes their paths straight, but the wicked are brought down by their own wickedness.

Commentary; Make sure that you are leading a life of righteousness and do not associate with those who are filled with wickedness!

Proverbs 11:20

The Lord detests those whose hearts are perverse,
but he delights in those whose ways are blameless.

Commentary; Our Father God knows what is in your heart, nothing is hidden from Him. Make sure that your belief in Him are genuine and that your actions reflect the same!

Proverbs 11:6

The righteousness of the upright delivers them, but the unfaithful are trapped by evil desires.

Commentary; Even though we seemingly see evil and unfaithful people prospering, the fact is that our Father God will apply the ultimate judgement upon those who refuse to genuinely acknowledge Jesus as Lord and Master.

Luke 17:33

Whoever tries to keep their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life will preserve it.

Commentary; Jesus reminds us that those who lose their lives for His sake will gain everlasting life.

Proverbs 21:2

A person may think their own ways are right, but the Lord weighs the heart.

Commentary; Our Father God knows everything that is in your heart. Therefore, keep your heart pure of the sins and temptations that this world subjects us to.

Proverbs 20:12

Ears that hear and eyes that see—the Lord has made them both.

Commentary; Our Father God has made everything, AND, when He sends the Holy Spirit to indwell in someone, they then will have ears to hear and eyes to see the words of our Lord.

Proverbs 21:12

The righteous God wisely considers the house of the wicked, Overthrowing the wicked for their wickedness.

Commentary; During the final days the wicked will be dealt with by our Father God.

Ephesians 1:3

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.

Commentary; If you genuinely believe in Jesus then you will be blessed by our Father God.

Amos 3:7-8

Surely the Lord God does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets. A lion has roared! Who will not fear? The Lord God has spoken! Who can but prophesy?

Commentary; Jesus is the Lion of Judah and He has roared!!

John 16:23-24

In that day you will no longer ask me anything. Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.

Commentary; Jesus promises those who genuinely believe in Him that whatever we ask for in His name, our Father God will provide!

2 Timothy 1:7

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Commentary; When the enemy attacks you, causing you fears and doubts, remember that our Father God believes in you, and that He has given you the tools you need to combat the attacks of the enemy.

John 3:35

The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands.

Commentary; Our Lord Jesus has been given all authority over all matters. Woe to those who shun Jesus' offer of salvation.

Micah 5:10-14

“In that day,” declares the Lord, “I will destroy your horses from among you and demolish your chariots.
I will destroy the cities of your land and tear down all your strongholds. I will destroy your witchcraft and you will no longer cast spells. I will destroy your idols
and your sacred stones from among you; you will no longer bow down to the work of your hands. I will uproot from among you your Asherah poles when I demolish your cities.

Commentary; We serve a jealous God, for He has instructed us that we are to serve no other god but Him!

John 3:36

Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.

Commentary; It's very clear; we are all called to follow Jesus, The Christ. For those who genuinely do, salvation awaits. For those who refuse, eternal damnation awaits.

James 4:7

Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Commentary; Once we genuinely accept the offer of salvation that Jesus offers, we will be equipped to resist the temptations of the evil one, and he will then flee from you.

Commentary; Our Father God instructs us that we are to take care of those in need.

1 Samuel 12:24

Commentary; Everything we have comes from our Father God. Give Him thanks and all the glory!

2 Samuel 22:32

“For who is God, except the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God?

Commentary; There is only one God; the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob. Worship only Him.

2 Samuel 22:34

He makes my feet like the feet of deer, And sets me on my high places.

Commentary; Our Father God blesses those who genuinely believe in Him!

1 Chronicles 16:10

Glory in His holy name; Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord!

Job 16:19

Surely even now my witness is in heaven, And my evidence is on high.

Commentary; Job, although in great distress, never forsake our Father God amidst his trials and tribulations, and God loved Job because of that.

Psalm 37:8

Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret—it only causes harm.

Commentary; We are instructed to love our enemies. Do not waste your time nor stress yourself out expressing angry or plotting revenge against someone you feel has harmed you, for our Lord Jesus will be the Judge and Jury of their actions.

Psalm 37:27-28

Depart from evil, and do good; And dwell forevermore. For the Lord loves justice, And does not forsake His saints; They are preserved forever,
But the descendants of the wicked shall be cut off.

Commentary; Our Lord Jesus will never forsake those who genuinely believe in Him and who then follow His precepts.

Psalm 83:14-18

As the fire burns the woods, And as the flame sets the mountains on fire, So pursue them with Your tempest, And frighten them with Your storm. Fill their faces with shame, That they may seek Your name, O Lord. Let them be confounded and dismayed forever; Yes, let them be put to shame and perish,
That they may know that You, whose name alone is the Lord, Are the Most High over all the earth.

Commentary; Our Father God will protect those who genuinely believe in Him.

Psalm 115:12-13

The Lord has been mindful of us; He will bless us;
He will bless the house of Israel; He will bless the house of Aaron. He will bless those who fear the Lord, Both small and great.

Commentary; Our Father God will bless those who genuinely believe in Him.

For the upright will dwell in the land, And the blameless will remain in it; But the wicked will be cut off from the earth, And the unfaithful will be uprooted from it.

Commentary; Our Father God will judge the unfaithful very harshly.

Commentary; Our Father God is gracious, and benevolent, however, because He is holy, He expects His children to be holy as well.

Commentary; Our Father God desires that His children be truthful in all matters..

Deuteronomy 3:24

‘O Lord God, You have begun to show Your servant Your greatness and Your mighty hand, for what god is there in heaven or on earth who can do anything like Your works and Your mighty deeds?

Commentary; Once you pay attention to the works of our Father God's hands, you'll better understand His sovereignty.

Deuteronomy 4:7

“For what great nation is there that has God so near to it, as the Lord our God is to us, for whatever reason we may call upon Him?

Commentary; If you are a genuine believer, you can call upon our Father God for anything and for any reason.

1 Corinthians 15:10-11

And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”

Commentary; Jesus will be coming again, from heaven, in the same manner as how he ascended to be with our Father God. Be prepared!

2 Samuel 22:4

I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies.

Commentary; Our Father God will save those who genuinely believe in Him from their enemies.

1 Kings 2:2-3

“I go the way of all the earth; be strong, therefore, and prove yourself a man. And keep the charge of the Lord your God: to walk in His ways, to keep His statutes, His commandments, His judgments, and His testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn;

Commentary; As David instructed his son, Solomon, every genuine believer, who walks in the ways of our Lord, will prosper in all that they do!

2 Kings 6:16

So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”

Commentary; As Elisha so clearly intimated; when God be for us, who can win against us!

2 Chronicles 15:7

But you, be strong and do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded!”

Commentary; Our Father God rewards those who are not afraid to work.

Job 9:2-4

“Truly I know it is so, But how can a man be righteous before God? If one wished to contend with Him, He could not answer Him one time out of a thousand. God is wise in heart and mighty in strength. Who has hardened himself against Him and prospered?

Commentary; Only our Father God is righteous. Ultimately, those who push against God will suffer mightily.

Job 42:2

“I know that You can do everything, And that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You.

Commentary; Our Father God is sovereign, He determines all comings and all goings.

Psalm 37:7

Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.

Commentary; As genuine believers we are commanded to be patient and to wait on our Lord, for His timing is always perfect.

Psalm 37:21

The wicked borrows and does not repay, But the righteous shows mercy and gives.

Commentary; Genuine believers in our Lord Jesus are to conduct themselves honorably. If they don't, then they are not genuine.

Psalm 71:1-3

In You, O Lord, I put my trust; Let me never be put to shame. Deliver me in Your righteousness, and cause me to escape; Incline Your ear to me, and save me. Be my strong refuge, To which I may resort continually; You have given the commandment to save me, For You are my rock and my fortress.

Commentary; Genuine believers are to place their trust in our Lord, for He will deliver them.

Romans 2:11

For there is no partiality with God.

Commentary; Our Father God is righteous and just, He shows no partiality. For those who genuinely believe in His Son Jesus, God only sees Jesus when He looks at us.

Psalm 5:6

You shall destroy those who speak falsehood;
The Lord abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.

Commentary; Those who are liars and are deceitful will be excluded from spending eternity in heaven.

Commentary; Our Lord protects and defends those who genuinely believe in Him, and follow His precepts.

Commentary; Our Father God is pleased when those who genuinely love and follow Him, genuinely love others.

Psalm 16:9-10

Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices;
My flesh also will rest in hope. For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.

Commentary; Our Father God is faithful to those who are faithful to Him.

James 1:12

Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

Commentary; Our Father God loves those who endure temptation without falling into sin.

The voice of the Lord is powerful; The voice of the Lord is full of majesty.

Commentary; When our Father God speaks, even the mountains tremble.

Commentary; The most clever and eloquent human is nothing without the grace of God and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in his/her life.

The voice of the Lord divides the flames of fire.

Commentary; Our Father God commands all things.

James 1:22

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

Commentary; A genuine believer in our Lord Jesus, The Christ, and follower of His precepts, must follow Jesus' precepts, which includes being a doer of the word, and not merely a passive observer of the word.

Psalm 29:11

The Lord will give strength to His people; The Lord will bless His people with peace.

Commentary; Our Lord blesses those who genuinely believe in Him, and follow His precepts. The result of the Lord's blessing is peace for the genuine believer irrespective of what he/she may be going through.

James 1:26

If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless.

Commentary; A genuine believer in our Lord Jesus, The Christ, will not allow words from his mouth contaminate his walk

with Jesus.

Psalm 33:4

For the word of the Lord is right, And all His work is done in truth.

Commentary; Our Father God does all things with truth and in faithfulness.

James 1:25

But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

Commentary; A genuine believer in our Lord Jesus, The Christ, will be blessed by being a doer of Jesus' instructions.

Psalm 33:5

He loves righteousness and justice; The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.

Commentary; A genuine believer in our Lord Jesus, The Christ, will be living a life of righteousness and justice, just as our Lord expects genuine believers to conduct themselves.

James 1:27

Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

Commentary; Our Father God expects a genuine believer in our Lord Jesus, The Christ, to work hard at remaining free from the sins and vices that this physical world tempts all humans with.

Psalm 33:6

By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
And all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.

Commentary; Our Father God spoke the universe, including this physical world we presently reside in, into existence.

James 2:4

have you not shown partiality among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts?

Commentary; In Matthew 7:1-2, our Father God has admonished all to not be judgemental; "“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you."

Psalm 33:8-9

Let all the earth fear the Lord; Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.

Commentary; Our Father God spoke everything into existence.

James 2:8-9

If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you do well; but if you show partiality, you commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors.

Commentary; Genuine believers in our Lord Jesus, The Christ, are to treat every person exactly the same.

Psalm 33:11

The counsel of the Lord stands forever, The plans of His heart to all generations.

Commentary; Whereas a human's life is measured, limited like a drop of water in the ocean, our Father God is forever.

James 2:19

You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!

Commentary; There is only one God, something even the demons believe. Those who don't believe in the Father, and His only begotten Son Jesus, The Christ, will spend eternity separated from Father God.

Psalm 33:13-15

The Lord looks from heaven; He sees all the sons of men. From the place of His dwelling He looks On all the inhabitants of the earth; He fashions their hearts individually; He considers all their works.

Commentary; Our Father God sees all, He knows all, He knows what's in the hearts of men.

James 3:17

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.

Commentary; Our Father God is pure, He is utterly and completely holy.

Psalm 33:12

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, The people He has chosen as His own inheritance.

Commentary; Nations who worship our Father God are blessed. Those who don't, are cursed.

James 3:18

Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

Commentary; Our Lord Jesus, The Christ, expects all genuine believers in Him to conduct themselves peaceably in all matters.

Psalm 33:18-19

Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him,
On those who hope in His mercy, To deliver their soul from death, And to keep them alive in famine.

Commentary; Our Lord Jesus, The Christ, is merciful to those who genuinely believe in Him, and follow His precepts.

James 4:4

Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

Commentary; Those who adopt the ways of this physical world will spend eternity separated from our Father God.

Psalm 33:20

Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and our shield.

Commentary; Those who wait on the Lord will receive His very clear guidance.

James 4:12

There is one Lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you to judge another?

Commentary; We are not to judge others.

Psalm 39:11

When with rebukes You correct man for iniquity, You make his beauty melt away like a moth; Surely every man is vapor.

Commentary; The life expectancy of men or women is very brief, which is why one needs to focus on the hereafter, on eternity, and not necessarily on this physical world.

Psalm 40:2

He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps.

Commentary; Our Lord loves those, and takes care of those, who genuinely love Him, and follow His precepts.

Who can withstand his indignation? Who can endure his fierce anger? His wrath is poured out like fire; the rocks are shattered before him.

Commentary; Those who go against the wishes of our Father God can expect to be dealt with very harshly.

Nahum 1:9

What do you conspire against the Lord? He will make an utter end of it. Affliction will not rise up a second time.

Commentary; Our Lord knows the thoughts of every person.

Nahum 1:10

For while tangled like thorns, And while drunken like drunkards, They shall be devoured like stubble fully dried.

Commentary; Unrepented sinners will be dealt with very harshly.

Nahum 1:11

From you comes forth one Who plots evil against the Lord, A wicked counselor.

Commentary; Those who plot evil against the Lord's people will be dealt with very harshly.

Nahum 1:12-13

Thus says the Lord: “Though they are safe, and likewise many, Yet in this manner they will be cut down When he passes through. Though I have afflicted you, I will afflict you no more; For now I will break off his yoke from you, And burst your bonds apart.”

Commentary; The Lord will forgive those who repent of their sins and sinful ways.

Nahum 5:2

“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel,
Whose goings forth are from of old, From everlasting.”

Commentary; For out of Bethlehem came our Lord Jesus, The Christ.

Nahum 1:2

The Lord is a jealous and avenging God; the Lord takes vengeance and is filled with wrath. The Lord takes vengeance on his foes and vents his wrath against his enemies.

Commentary; Those who are enemies of our Lord and of those who genuinely believe in and follow the Lord's precepts, will be dealt with very harshly.

Nahum 1:4

He rebukes the sea and dries it up; he makes all the rivers run dry. Bashan and Carmel wither and the blossoms of Lebanon fade.

Commentary; He who created this world, and all things in it, has dominion over all things.

Nahum 1:14

The Lord has given a command concerning you: “Your name shall be perpetuated no longer. Out of the house of your gods I will cut off the carved image and the molded image. I will dig your grave, For you are vile.”

Commentary; He who created this world, and all things in it, will not tolerate those who worship something other than worshiping Him.

Habakkuk 2:20

“But the Lord is in His holy temple. Let all the earth keep silence before Him.”

Commentary; The Lord is in His temple. He sees all, He knows all, and expects all to respect and honor Him.

Habakkuk 3:10

Habakkuk 3:13

You went forth for the salvation of Your people,
For salvation with Your Anointed. You struck the head from the house of the wicked, By laying bare from foundation to neck.

Commentary; The Lord will vanquish all evil upon His return.

Habakkuk 3:17-18

Though the fig tree may not blossom, Nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail,
And the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the stalls—Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.

Commentary; In good times or bad we are to be joyful in the Lord.

Habakkuk 3:19

The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, And He will make me walk on my high hills.

Commentary; The Lord blesses those who genuinely love Him, and who genuinely follow His precepts.

Zephaniah 1:2-3

“I will utterly consume everything From the face of the land,” Says the Lord; “I will consume man and beast; I will consume the birds of the heavens, The fish of the sea, And the stumbling blocks along with the wicked. I will cut off man from the face of the land,” Says the Lord.

Commentary; Those who oppose the Lord and His precepts will be dealt with very seriously.

Zephaniah 1:14-16

The great day of the Lord is near; It is near and hastens quickly. The noise of the day of the Lord is bitter; There the mighty men shall cry out. That day is a day of wrath, A day of trouble and distress, A day of devastation and desolation, A day of darkness and gloominess, A day of clouds and thick darkness, A day of trumpet and alarm Against the fortified cities And against the high towers.

Commentary; When the Lord returns, judgement begins.

Zephaniah 1:18

Neither their silver nor their gold Shall be able to deliver them In the day of the Lord’s wrath; But the whole land shall be devoured By the fire of His jealousy, For He will make speedy riddance Of all those who dwell in the land.

Commentary; Those who oppose the Lord, once He returns, will be removed.

Zephaniah 2:2-3

Before the decree is issued, Or the day passes like chaff, Before the Lord’s fierce anger comes upon you, Before the day of the Lord’s anger comes upon you! Seek the Lord, all you meek of the earth, Who have upheld His justice. Seek righteousness, seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden In the day of the Lord’s anger.

Commentary; Those who genuinely acknowledge that Jesus, The Christ, is Lord and Master over all, will be spared the punishment that those who don't acknowledge His sovereignty will receive.

Zephaniah 2:9

Therefore, as I live,”Says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, “Surely Moab shall be like Sodom, And the people of Ammon like Gomorrah—Overrun with weeds and saltpits, And a perpetual desolation. The residue of My people shall plunder them, And the remnant of My people shall possess them.”

Commentary; Nations who do not genuinely acknowledge that Jesus, The Christ, is Lord and Master over all, will be punished.

Zephaniah 2:10-11

This they shall have for their pride, Because they have reproached and made arrogant threats Against the people of the Lord of hosts. The Lord will be awesome to them, For He will reduce to nothing all the gods of the earth; People shall worship Him,
Each one from his place, Indeed all the shores of the nations.

Commentary; Pride comes before the fall and the Lord will punish those who worship false gods.

Zephaniah 2:13

And He will stretch out His hand against the north,
Destroy Assyria, And make Nineveh a desolation, As dry as the wilderness.

Commentary; Scripture promises that the Jewish nation will face attacks, but that the Lord will vanquish those attacking them.

Zephaniah 3:12

I will leave in your midst A meek and humble people, And they shall trust in the name of the Lord.

Commentary; Those who trust in the name of the Lord will spend eternity in Heaven, worshiping Him.

Haggai 2:5

‘According to the word that I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt, so My Spirit remains among you; do not fear!’

Commentary; The Lord promises to stay close to those who genuinely trust in the name of the Lord.

Zechariah 2:4-5

who said to him, “Run, speak to this young man, saying: ‘Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls, because of the multitude of men and livestock in it. For I,’ says the Lord, ‘will be a wall of fire all around her, and I will be the glory in her midst.’ ”

Commentary; The Lord protects those who genuinely believe in Him.

Zechariah 2:4-5

For thus says the Lord of hosts: “He sent Me after glory, to the nations which plunder you; for he who touches you touches the apple of His eye. For surely I will shake My hand against them, and they shall become spoil for their servants. Then you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent Me.

Commentary; The Lord will not show compassion to those who attack His people.

Zechariah 2:10-11

“Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion! For behold, I am coming and I will dwell in your midst,” says the Lord. “Many nations shall be joined to the Lord in that day, and they shall become My people. And I will dwell in your midst. Then you will know that the Lord of hosts has sent Me to you.

Commentary; Jesus, The Christ, will return to Israel.

Zechariah 3:1-2

Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to oppose him. And the Lord said to Satan, “The Lord rebuke you, Satan! The Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?”

Commentary; Our Father God has dominion over all things, including Satan and his minions.

Zechariah 3:1-2

Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and was standing before the Angel. Then He answered and spoke to those who stood before Him, saying, “Take away the filthy garments from him.” And to him He said, “See, I have removed your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with rich robes.” And I said, “Let them put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head, and they put the clothes on him. And the Angel of the Lord stood by.

Commentary; All who genuinely believe in Jesus, The Christ, will be cleansed of their iniquities.

Zechariah 3:6-7

Then the Angel of the Lord admonished Joshua, saying, “Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘If you will walk in My ways, And if you will keep My command, Then you shall also judge My house, And likewise have charge of My courts; I will give you places to walk
Among these who stand here.

Commentary; The Lord Jesus, The Christ, promises to bless Joshua for as long as Joshua walks in Jesus' way and keeps His commands.

Jeremiah 13:8-11

Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Thus says the Lord: ‘In this manner I will ruin the pride of Judah and the great pride of Jerusalem. This evil people, who refuse to hear My words, who follow the dictates of their hearts, and walk after other gods to serve them and worship them, shall be just like this sash which is profitable for nothing. For as the sash clings to the waist of a man, so I have caused the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah to cling to Me,’ says the Lord, ‘that they may become My people, for renown, for praise, and for glory; but they would not hear.’

Commentary; The Lord will not bless those individuals and/or nations who refuse to worship Him.

Jeremiah 13:15

Hear and give ear: Do not be proud, For the Lord has spoken.

Commentary; Pride comes before the fall. The Lord loves the humble.

The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone. This was the Lord’s doing;

Hebrews 9:6-8

Now when these things had been thus prepared, the priests always went into the first part of the tabernacle, performing the services. But into the second part the high priest went alone once a year, not without blood, which he offered for himself and for the people’s sins committed in ignorance; the Holy Spirit indicating this, that the way into the Holiest of All was not yet made manifest while the first tabernacle was still standing.
It is marvelous in our eyes.

Commentary; God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus, The Christ, to be the final sacrifice for all of mankind.

Psalm 118:24

This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.

Commentary; We owe every day to the Lord. We are to celebrate every day He allows us to have.

Hebrews 9:9

It was symbolic for the present time in which both gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot make him who performed the service perfect in regard to the conscience—

Commentary; Genuinely believing in, and following the precepts Jesus taught is the only sacrifice guaranteed to provide a person with the path to eternal salvation.

Psalm 118:26

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! We have blessed you from the house of the Lord.

Commentary; The Lord blesses those who genuinely believe in Him, and who genuinely follow His precepts.

Hebrews 9:11-12

But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.

Commentary; Jesus came to this physical world as the one perfect and final sacrifice to account for every person's sins.

Psalm 118:27

God is the Lord, And He has given us light; Bind the sacrifice with cords to the horns of the altar.

Commentary; The God of Abraham, of Isaac and of Jacob, created everything, including the light.

Hebrews 9:13-14

For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh, how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Commentary; Father God sent His only begotten Son Jesus, The Christ, to this physical world to be the one, final, perfect sacrifice for every person's sins.

Psalm 118:29

Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.

Commentary; The Lord is merciful, for while we were still sinners, He sent His only begotten Son Jesus, The Christ, to be the final propitiation for all of mankind's sins.

Hebrews 9:16-17

For where there is a testament, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament is in force after men are dead, since it has no power at all while the testator lives.

Commentary; Eternal salvation isn't reached by a genuine believer in Jesus, The Christ, until after they die and leave this physical world.

Psalm 119:1

Blessed are the undefiled in the way, Who walk in the law of the Lord!

Commentary; The Lord blesses everyone who genuinely believes in Him.

Hebrews 9:18-22

Therefore not even the first covenant was dedicated without blood. For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and goats, with water, scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, saying, “This is the blood of the covenant which God has commanded you.” Then likewise he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry. And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission.

Commentary; Jesus voluntarily allowed His blood to be shed to be the final sacrifice for those who genuinely believe in Him and who genuinely follow His precepts.

Psalm 119:2

Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, Who seek Him with the whole heart!

Commentary; The Lord blesses those who genuinely believe in Him and who genuinely follow His precepts.

Hebrews 9:23-28

Therefore it was necessary that the copies of the things in the heavens should be purified with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. For Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us; not that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood of another— He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.

Commentary; Jesus, The Christ, will return and then the judgement will begin. Those who genuinely believe in Jesus, The Christ, will be judged to have been faithful, and will achieve eternal salvation.

Psalm 119:4

You have commanded us To keep Your precepts diligently.

Commentary; Those who genuinely believe in the Lord, and who diligently follow His precepts, the Lord will bless.

Hebrews 10:1-4

For the law, having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year by year, make those who approach perfect. For then would they not have ceased to be offered? For the worshipers, once purified, would have had no more consciousness of sins. But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins.

Commentary; Jesus, The Christ, was the One, perfect sacrifice, replacing the need for any additional animal sacrifices.

Psalm 119:9

How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word.

Commentary; Eternal salvation can come to those who genuinely believe in The Lord, and who genuinely follow His precepts.

Hebrews 10:5-7

Therefore, when He came into the world, He said:

“Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, But a body You have prepared for Me. In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You had no pleasure. Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come—In the volume of the book it is written of Me—To do Your will, O God.’ ”

Commentary; While praying in the Garden, just prior to being arrested, tried and crucified, Jesus called out to His Father, our Father God, saying "...yet not My will but Your will be done".

Psalm 119:21

You rebuke the proud—the cursed, Who stray from Your commandments.

Commentary; Pride comes before the fall.

Hebrews 10:8-10

Previously saying, “Sacrifice and offering, burnt offerings, and offerings for sin You did not desire, nor had pleasure in them” (which are offered according to the law), then He said, “Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God.” He takes away the first that He may establish the second. By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Commentary; Jesus represents the final sacrifice.

Psalm 119:32

I will run the course of Your commandments, For You shall enlarge my heart.

Commentary; Those will be blessed who genuinely believe in the Lord, and who adhere to His commandments.

Hebrews 10:11-14

And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool. For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

Commentary; Jesus offered Himself as the one final, and perfect sacrifice for mankind's sins.

Psalm 119:33

Teach me, O Lord, the way of Your statutes, And I shall keep it to the end.

Commentary; The Lord will bless those who genuinely worship Him, and who genuinely follow His statutes.

Hebrews 10:15-18

But the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us; for after He had said before, “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,” then He adds, “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” Now where there is remission of these, there is no longer an offering for sin.

Commentary; Father God sent Jesus, His only begotten Son, to be the final required propitiation for mankind's sins.

Psalm 119:34

Give me understanding, and I shall keep Your law; Indeed, I shall observe it with my whole heart.

Commentary; The Lord has dropped the scales from the eyes of those who genuinely believe in Him.

Hebrews 10:19-22

Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

Commentary; Those who genuinely believe in Jesus, and follow His precepts, will spend eternity with the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Psalm 119:35

Make me walk in the path of Your commandments, For I delight in it.

Commentary; The Lord loves those who willingly adhere to and follow His commandments.

Hebrews 10:23

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

Commentary; The Lord is faithful, He has kept every promise He has ever made, or will ever make.

Psalm 119:36

Incline my heart to Your testimonies, And not to covetousness.

Commentary; Those who genuinely believe on the Lord, and who genuinely follow His precepts, will find themselves less tempted by covetousness.

Isaiah 55:7

Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.

Commentary; If a sinner will forsake his sinful activities, and genuinely acknowledged that Jesus, The Christ, is his Lord and Master, the sinner will be absolved of his sins and will escape spending eternity in hell.

Matthew 23:13

“But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in.

Commentary; The Lord promises that those who inhibit any person's walk with Him will face harsh punishment during the end times.

Isaiah 55:8-9

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.

Commentary; The Lord promises that His ways and His thoughts are higher than ours.

Matthew 23:14

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater condemnation.

Commentary; The Lord promises that teachers of faith, who mislead others, will face serious consequences.

Isaiah 55:10-11

“For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater, So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

Commentary; The Lord's words, which spoke the physical world into existence, will accomplish exactly what He intends them to accomplish!

Matthew 23:15

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves.

Commentary; Those who inhibit the type of walk the Lord wants with every person will face severe punishment in the final days.

Isaiah 55:12

“For you shall go out with joy, And be led out with peace; The mountains and the hills Shall break forth into singing before you, And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

Commentary; When the Lord orders His people to be prospered, even nature rejoices.

Matthew 23:16-22

“Woe to you, blind guides, who say, ‘Whoever swears by the temple, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gold of the temple, he is obliged to perform it.’ Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gold or the temple that sanctifies the gold? And, ‘Whoever swears by the altar, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gift that is on it, he is obliged to perform it.’ Fools and blind! For which is greater, the gift or the altar that sanctifies the gift? Therefore he who swears by the altar, swears by it and by all things on it. He who swears by the temple, swears by it and by Him who dwells in it. And he who swears by heaven, swears by the throne of God and by Him who sits on it.

Commentary; The Lord has no patience with those who mislead His flock.

Isaiah 55:13

Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress tree, And instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree; And it shall be to the Lord for a name, For an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.”

Commentary; The Lord blesses those who genuinely believe in Him, who genuinely worship Him and who genuinely follow His precepts.

Matthew 23:23-24

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone. Blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel!

Commentary; The Lord promised to severely punish those religious teachers who refuse to teach an accurate message of genuine faith.

Isaiah 56:1

Thus says the Lord: “Keep justice, and do righteousness, For My salvation is about to come, And My righteousness to be revealed.

Commentary; The Lord promised to reveal His Messiah hundreds of years before Jesus, The Christ, was born.

Matthew 23:25-26

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of extortion and self-indulgence. Blind Pharisee, first cleanse the inside of the cup and dish, that the outside of them may be clean also.

Commentary; The Lord promises severe consequences for those who superficially worship Him.

Isaiah 56:2

Blessed is the man who does this, And the son of man who lays hold on it; Who keeps from defiling the Sabbath, And keeps his hand from doing any evil.”

Commentary; The Lord promises to bless those who genuinely follow His precepts.

Matthew 23:27-28

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness. Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

Commentary; The Lord promises to judge harshly those who pretend to be righteous.

Isaiah 56:4-5

For thus says the Lord: “To the eunuchs who keep My Sabbaths, And choose what pleases Me, And hold fast My covenant, Even to them I will give in My house And within My walls a place and a name Better than that of sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting name That shall not be cut off.

Commentary; The Lord promises that everyone who genuinely loves, honor and worships Him will spend eternity in heaven with Him, His Son and with His Holy Spirit.

Matthew 23:29-30

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you build the tombs of the prophets and adorn the monuments of the righteous, and say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.’

Commentary; The Lord promises those who hypocritically attack the prophets will face serious consequences during the end times.

Isaiah 56:6-8

“Also the sons of the foreigner Who join themselves to the Lord, to serve Him, And to love the name of the Lord, to be His servants—Everyone who keeps from defiling the Sabbath, And holds fast My covenant—Even them I will bring to My holy mountain, And make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices Will be accepted on My altar; For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.” The Lord God, who gathers the outcasts of Israel, says, “Yet I will gather to him Others besides those who are gathered to him.”

Commentary; The Lord promises to bless every person who genuinely loves Him, and who genuinely follow His precepts, irrespective of their heritage.

Matthew 23:31-36

“Therefore you are witnesses against yourselves that you are sons of those who murdered the prophets. Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers’ guilt. Serpents, brood of vipers! How can you escape the condemnation of hell? Therefore, indeed, I send you prophets, wise men, and scribes: some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you will scourge in your synagogues and persecute from city to city, that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah, son of Berechiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. Assuredly, I say to you, all these things will come upon this generation.

Commentary; The Lord promises that those who persecute those who genuinely love Him, and who genuinely follow His precepts, will face eternal condemnation.

Isaiah 57:1-2

The righteous perishes, And no man takes it to heart; Merciful men are taken away, While no one considers That the righteous is taken away from evil. He shall enter into peace; They shall rest in their beds, Each one walking in his uprightness.

Commentary; The Lord blesses those who genuinely walk in holy uprightness.

Matthew 23:37-39

“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! See! Your house is left to you desolate; for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ ”

Commentary; Everyone is given the opportunity to genuinely accept Jesus, The Christ, as their Lord and Master. Those who do will achieve eternal salvation. Those who don't, won't.

Isaiah 57:11-12

“And of whom have you been afraid, or feared, That you have lied And not remembered Me, Nor taken it to your heart? Is it not because I have held My peace from of old That you do not fear Me? 12 I will declare your righteousness And your works, For they will not profit you.

Commentary; Ye of little faith live in fear. Those who genuinely believe in Jesus, The Christ, don't.

Romans 6:8-11

Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Commentary; Death has no hold over those who genuinely believe in Jesus, The Christ.

Isaiah 57:13

When you cry out, Let your collection of idols deliver you. But the wind will carry them all away, A breath will take them. But he who puts his trust in Me shall possess the land, And shall inherit My holy mountain.”

Commentary; The Lord promises to bless those who genuinely only worship Him.

Romans 6:12-14

Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

Commentary; By the grace of Almighty God, the God of Abraham, of Isaac and Jacob, everyone who genuinely proclaims the sovereignty of Jesus, The Christ, has received a full and complete pardon from their sins, once and for all, which then allows them to spend eternity with God, The Father, God, The Son and God, The Holy Spirit.

Isaiah 57:16

For I will not contend forever, Nor will I always be angry; For the spirit would fail before Me, And the souls which I have made.

Commentary; There is a limited time during which a person can avoid eternal separation from God by genuinely renouncing their sins and genuinely proclaim the sovereignty of Jesus, The Christ, God's only begotten Son.

Romans 6:15-18

What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not! Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.

Commentary; Genuine righteousness fills a person who genuinely renounces their sins and sinful life, and who genuinely begins to follow Jesus, The Christ.

Isaiah 57:21

“There is no peace,” Says my God, “for the wicked.”

Commentary; God promises to afflict those who are wicked, those who refuse to renounce their sins and sinful life, and those who refuse to genuinely follow Jesus, The Christ.

Romans 6:20-23

For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. What fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Commentary; Those who renounce their sins and sinful life, and who proclaim Christ Jesus as their Lord and Master, will spend eternity with God, The Father, God, The Son and God, The Holy Spirit. Those who don't, won't.

Isaiah 58:2

Yet they seek Me daily, And delight to know My ways, As a nation that did righteousness, And did not forsake the ordinance of their God. They ask of Me the ordinances of justice; They take delight in approaching God.

Commentary; The Lord will bless those who genuinely seek Him, and who genuinely follow His precepts.

Romans 7:1

Or do you not know, brethren (for I speak to those who know the law), that the law has dominion over a man as long as he lives?

Commentary; In Matthew 5, verses 17-18 the Lord states “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.

Isaiah 58:6-7

“Is this not the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, To undo the heavy burdens, To let the oppressed go free, And that you break every yoke? Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; When you see the naked, that you cover him, And not hide yourself from your own flesh?

Commentary; Once a person has genuinely "fasted" from their sins, and their sinful life, the Lord will bless them, which will encourage them to then bless others.
