John 3:16

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Commentary; This promise from God, that whoever believes in Jesus The Christ should not perish but have everlasting life is perhaps the most significant promise we could hope to stand upon! Irrespective of health, financial or other of this physical world's realities you may be struggling with right now, understand that once you leave this fallen world to go be with The Father, you have His promises of eternal life outside of the pain and suffering that you may be presently experiencing!

Isaiah 53:4-5

Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.

Commentary; This promise from God, written by Isaiah the prophet approximately 700 years BEFORE Jesus was born, instructs that once we trust in His son Jesus and based upon the suffering that Jesus endured at the cross for us, that we will be healed in eternity once our life here in this fallen world has been been completed, should be comforting to any and all whose physical bodies "are not what they used to be"!

Isaiah 43:1-3

“Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the Lord your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior

Commentary; This promise from God, written by Isaiah the prophet approximately 700 years BEFORE Jesus was born, promises us that we are His, and when enter into life's trials and tribulations, He will be with us though it all. If you read our Wallow Fire Testimony you'll see how personally God can interact with each one of us!

Isaiah 40:8

The grass withers, the flower fades,
But the word of our God stands forever.”

Commentary; All of the physical things of this world will ultimately go away whereas the word of God is eternal, His truths are everlasting!

Psalm 137:7

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch out Your hand Against the wrath of my enemies, And Your right hand will save me.

​

Commentary; Psalm 137 is one of the imprecatory Psalms. In this verse the Psalmist acknowledges that our God is all powerful and will defend us against our enemies and will save us. Walk in all assurances that we serve the one true God who will defend us when we need to be defended!

Psalm 120:5

I called on the Lord in distress;
The Lord answered me and set me in a broad place.

Commentary; As a believer we call upon God to remove us from the problems of this world and yet, not our will but His will be done!

Psalm 119:105

Commentary; When we stand upon God's word we will always glorify Him, and benefit ourselves!

Psalm 118:6

The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?

Commentary; If God be for me, who can be against me!

Psalm 120:1

In my distress I cried to the Lord,
And He heard me.


 

Commentary; Our Father God loves us. He hears us when we cry out to Him!

Psalm 100:5

For the Lord is good;
His mercy is everlasting,
And His truth endures to all generations.

 

Commentary; God's mercy, His promises and His truths are forever, not just for this generation or that generation.

Psalm 34:4

I sought the Lord, and He heard me,
And delivered me from all my fears.

Commentary; When you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, He hears you when you cry out to Him. He can deliver you from all of your fears as His perfect love overcomes all fears!

Psalm 86:7

In the day of my trouble I will call upon You,
For You will answer me.

Commentary; It's a common theme; When God knows that you genuinely are trying to walk according to His precepts, when you run into trouble, and cry out to Him to help you, He will answer your call for help!

Psalm 34:10

The young lions lack and suffer hunger;
But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.

Commentary; We understand that even though we are believers we are not promised a conflict or trouble free life here in this physical world. However, God promises us that even in the midst of this world's trials and tribulations He will make sure that we do not lack any of the good things He wants for our lives!

Psalm 34:15

The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
And His ears are open to their cry.

Commentary; Our Father God keeps watch over us 24:7!

1 Corinthians 3:16-17

Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.

Commentary; Our bodies, created by our Father God, are His temples, created by Him, for Him.

Genesis 2:7

And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

Commentary; We were created by our Father God, we are His.

Leviticus 26:12

I will walk among you and be your God, and you shall be My people.

​​

Commentary; Our Father God wants to have a relationship with those He has created. It has been those who He has created who have not fully cooperated.

1 Corinthians 6:3

Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life?

​​

Commentary; This statement has caused many differing interpretations, which can be very dangerous as the Word of God is absolute. Suffice it to say that those who receive salvation through Jesus will have authorities not otherwise understood once Jesus returns.

1 John 1:8-9

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Commentary; It is impossible to hide anything from our Father God for He knows all. We are to confess our sins and then go and sin no longer, for while we were yet sinners God sent His only begotten Son to cleanse us of our sins.

Ezekiel 37:27

My tabernacle also shall be with them; indeed I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

Commentary; Our Father God wants to have a relationship with all who genuinely believe in Him.

2 Samuel 7:12-14

“When your days are fulfilled and you rest with your fathers, I will set up your seed after you, who will come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. I will be his Father, and he shall be My son.

Commentary; 2 Samuel, written approximately 900 years before Jesus was born, shows God's promise to David that David's son Solomon would build the temple to worship God in, and then that Jesus, The Messiah, would come to this physical world through the line of David.

Deuteronomy 20:4

“The Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory”.

Commentary; When His people faithfully worship and honor our Father God He is then faithful back to them.

Psalm 116:9

I will walk before the Lord

In the land of the living.

Commentary; To a genuine believer the salvation afforded us by our belief in Jesus means that one day we will be in the presence of our Father God along with other genuine believers.

Joel 2:12

“Now, therefore,” says the Lord,
“Turn to Me with all your heart,
With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.”

Commentary; Our Father God wants all of His creation to turn to Him, but He wants them to do it voluntarily.

Isaiah 25:8

He will swallow up death forever, And the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces; The rebuke of His people He will take away from all the earth; For the Lord has spoken.

Commentary; Our Father God showed all who genuinely believe in Him that He removed the sting of death by resurrecting His Son Jesus.

Isaiah 45:22

“Look to Me, and be saved,
All you ends of the earth!
For I am God, and there is no other.

​​

Commentary; There is only one true God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the only God who provided the means of eternal salvation through His only begotten Son, Jesus, The Christ! Come to Him and be saved!

1 Corinthians 15:22-26

For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming. Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet. The last enemy that will be destroyed is death.

Commentary; There is definitely a specific order to what will happen when Jesus returns, and the final enemy to be eliminated will be death!

1 Corinthians 15:33

Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.”

Commentary; It is important that you do not associate with the wrong people for their errors can corrupt the proper life you're attempting to follow. The old saying "if you lay down with dogs you'll get up with fleas" says it all.

Psalm 65:13

You crown the year with Your goodness, And Your paths drip with abundance.

Commentary; Our Father God blesses those who genuinely believe and follow His precepts.

Malachi 3:10

Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,”
Says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.

Commentary; This is the only place in Scripture where our Father God challenges believers to test Him. Remember to always give back to God a portion of what He has blessed you with so He can bless you more!

Psalm 115:14

May the Lord give you increase more and more,
You and your children.

​​

Commentary; When you faithfully give back to the Lord a portion of what He has blessed you with, He will continue to bless you and your family.

Deuteronomy 7:9-10

“Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments; and He repays those who hate Him to their face, to destroy them. He will not be slack with him who hates Him; He will repay him to his face.

Commentary; Our Father God has repeatedly shown us what the future holds for us. Do not underestimate what is in store for those who do not trust fully in the Lord.

Deuteronomy 14:22

“You shall truly tithe all the increase of your grain that the field produces year by year.

​​

Commentary; Our Father God will bless those who honor Him by tithing upon the increases they receive.

Deuteronomy 4:29

But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.

​​

Commentary; Our Father God wants you to seek Him with everything that you have, you will not find Him if you only casually seek Him.

Proverbs 8:13

The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverse mouth I hate.

​​

Commentary; If you love the Lord, then you hate evil and the evil one. Don't let pride get between you and a genuine relationship with God.

Proverbs 9:10

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding”.

​​

Commentary; Once a person accepts the free offer of salvation through Jesus, their wisdom and understanding will begin to grow, exponentially.

Proverbs 11:31

If the righteous receive their due on earth, how much more the ungodly and the sinner!

​​

Commentary; Our Father God will not tolerate those who do not accept Jesus as their Lord and Master, nor those who refuse to discontinue their sinful ways.

Matthew 24:6-8

And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Commentary; Our Lord Jesus tells us exactly what signs to watch for which will announce His 2nd coming. Watch carefully!!

Matthew 24:11

Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.

​​

Commentary; As the time approaches for when our Lord Jesus returns He promises that we will have to deal with many false prophets.

Matthew 24:12-14

And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

​​

Commentary; Prior to Lord Jesus returning He promises us that things in this world are going to get real nasty. Because of the extreme nastiness, particularly towards genuine Christians, many not so committed Christians will move away from the faith to keep from being persecuted. Unfortunately, their unfaithfulness will result in him/her not achieving salvation, whereas those who persevere to the end will!

Matthew 24:29-30

“Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Commentary; Jesus tells us exactly what to expect when He comes again.

Matthew 24:26-27

“Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it. For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. (Matthew 24:23-27).

Commentary; Continuing with His narrative Jesus again warns us not to listen to false prophets, for during His 2nd coming we will see Him coming from the East to the West.

Matthew 24:31

And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

​​

Commentary; Make sure that you are one of the elect, that you are not left behind, by genuinely acknowledging that Jesus is The Christ, and is your Lord and Master.

Matthew 24:35

Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.

​​

Commentary; Jesus promises us that heaven and earth, as we know them, will pass away. However, His words will never pass away. Make sure that you are one of the elect, that you are not left behind, by genuinely acknowledging that Jesus is The Christ, and is your Lord and Master.

Proverbs 29:13

The poor and the oppressor have this in common:  The Lord gives sight to the eyes of both.

Commentary; Our Lord created everybody and everything.

1 Samuel 2:25

If one man sins against another, God will judge him. But if a man sins against the Lord, who will intercede for him?

​

Commentary; We are all sinners, which is why our Father God sent His Son Jesus to be the propitiation for the sins of everyone who genuinely believes in Jesus.

1 Samuel 2:35

Then I will raise up for Myself a faithful priest who shall do according to what is in My heart and in My mind. I will build him a sure house, and he shall walk before My anointed forever.

Commentary; Our Lord Jesus, The Christ, is our great High-Priest, forever, Who, in all things, did His Father's will, and Who took on the sins of the entire world to fully and finally defeat the evil one and the evil one's followers.

2 Chronicles 20:15

“Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s”

Commentary; Irrespective of what battles the genuine believer finds themselves in, if they will lay them at the feet of our Lord Jesus, then the battle will belong to The Lord.

Psalm 111:4

He has made His wonderful works to be remembered; The Lord is gracious and full of  compassion.

​

Commentary; Our Lord so loves each of us. He wants each of us to believe in Him and love Him.

Psalm 111:3

His work is honorable and glorious,
And His righteousness endures forever.

​

Commentary; Our Lord is holy and righteous. He wants each of us to be holy and righteous as well.

Psalm 111:10

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever.

​

Commentary; It is a wise person who chooses to follow our Lord, and His precepts.

Psalm 111:7-8

The works of His hands are verity and justice; All His precepts are sure. They stand fast forever and ever,
And are done in truth and uprightness.

​

Commentary; Our Lord does not tolerate liars nor those who pursue injustice.

Psalm 111:9

He has sent redemption to His people; He has commanded His covenant forever: Holy and awesome is His name.

​

Commentary; Our Father God sent His Son, our Lord Jesus, to be our redemption. Holy, Holy, Holy is He.

Leviticus 18:4

You shall observe My judgments and keep My ordinances, to walk in them: I am the Lord your God.

​

Commentary; Our Father God expects us to follow His precepts.

Mark 9:41

Truly I tell you, anyone who gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to the Messiah will certainly not lose their reward.

​

Commentary; Those who are kind to genuine believers, are genuine believers themselves and will also be rewarded in the final days.

Leviticus 19:4

‘Do not turn to idols, nor make for yourselves molded gods: I am the Lord your God.

​

Commentary; Our Father God is a jealous God; He will not tolerate the worshiping of idols or false gods.

Leviticus 19:13-14

‘You shall not cheat your neighbor, nor rob him. The wages of him who is hired shall not remain with you all night until morning. You shall not curse the deaf, nor put a stumbling block before the blind, but shall fear your God: I am the Lord.

​

Commentary; Our Father God will be harsh to the liar, cheater, swearer and harasser.

Isaiah 1:18

“Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool.

​

Commentary; By genuinely accepting Jesus, The Christ, as your Lord and savior, your sins will be wiped clean in the eyes of our Father God.

Isaiah 1:19-20

If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land; But if you refuse and rebel, You shall be devoured by the sword”; For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.

Commentary; Our Lord expects those who genuinely believe in Him to be obedient in all things.

Isaiah 2:4

He shall judge between the nations, And rebuke many people; They shall beat their swords into plowshares, And their spears into pruning hooks;
Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, Neither shall they learn war anymore.

​

Commentary; Once our Lord returns He will begin judging the nations. All wars and conflicts will be over.

Isaiah 35:5

Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, And the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.

​

Commentary; Once our Lord returns those genuine believers who have infirmities will be freed from their infirmities.

Psalm 7:11

God is a just judge, And God is angry with the wicked every day.

​

Commentary; Cast all wickedness away for our Father God will not be kind to the wicked.

Isaiah 54:8-9

With a little wrath I hid My face from you for a moment; But with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you,” Says the Lord, your Redeemer. “For this is like the waters of Noah to Me; For as I have sworn That the waters of Noah would no longer cover the earth, So have I sworn That I would not be angry with you, nor rebuke you.

​

Commentary; We serve a kind and merciful God.

Isaiah 64:4

For since the beginning of the world Men have not heard nor perceived by the ear, Nor has the eye seen any God besides You, Who acts for the one who waits for Him.

​

Commentary; We now wait for the 2nd coming of the One our Father God has promised to send to us.

Isaiah 65:13-15

Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: “My servants will eat, but you will go hungry; my servants will drink, but you will go thirsty; my servants will rejoice, but you will be put to shame. My servants will sing out of the joy of their hearts, but you will cry out from anguish of heart and wail in brokenness of spirit. You will leave your name for my chosen ones to use in their curses; the Sovereign Lord will put you to death, but to his servants he will give another name.

​

Commentary; A glorious future is in store for those who genuinely believe in, and follow the precepts of our Lord Jesus, The Christ. For those who don't, the future is quite dim.

Isaiah 65:16

Whoever invokes a blessing in the land will do so by the one true God; whoever takes an oath in the land will swear by the one true God. For the past troubles will be forgotten and hidden from my eyes.

​

Commentary; There is only one true God. For those who genuinely believe in, and follow the precepts of our Lord Jesus, The Christ, our sins have been forgiven.

Jeremiah 3:17

“At that time Jerusalem shall be called The Throne of the Lord, and all the nations shall be gathered to it, to the name of the Lord, to Jerusalem. No more shall they follow the dictates of their evil hearts.

​

Commentary; Once our Lord Jesus, The Christ, returns, every person and every nation will be called to account for themselves.

Jeremiah 23:5-6

“Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord, “That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness; A King shall reign and prosper, And execute judgment and righteousness in the earth. In His days Judah will be saved, And Israel will dwell safely; Now this is His name by which He will be called:

THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

Commentary; Our Father God promised to send us Lord Jesus, and then He did.

Jeremiah 31:34

For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.”

​

Commentary; Eternal salvation is available to the genuine believer of our Lord Jesus.

Lamentations 3:37

Who is he who speaks and it comes to pass, When the Lord has not commanded it?

​

Commentary; A person might claim to cause something to occur, but unless our Lord Jesus commands that it be, it will not.

Lamentations 3:40-42

Let us search out and examine our ways, And turn back to the Lord; Let us lift our hearts and hands
To God in heaven. We have transgressed and rebelled; You have not pardoned.

​

Commentary; Our Father God is holy. He will not ignore any sin. When our Father God looks at a genuine believer in His Son Jesus, The Christ, He sees the grace, purity and perfection of Jesus, and not the sinner that we all are.

Ezekiel 18:21-23

“But if a wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed, keeps all My statutes, and does what is lawful and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. None of the transgressions which he has committed shall be remembered against him; because of the righteousness which he has done, he shall live. Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?” says the Lord God, “and not that he should turn from his ways and live?

​

Commentary; Eternal salvation awaits those who genuinely believe in, and follow the precepts of our Lord Jesus, The Christ, as our Father God does not wish that any should perish.

Ezekiel 18:32

For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies,” says the Lord God. “Therefore turn and live!”

​

Commentary; Again, our Father God does not wish that any should perish. He sent His son Jesus so that every person can have eternal life, but only through Jesus!

Ezekiel 37:13-14

Then you shall know that I am the Lord, when I have opened your graves, O My people, and brought you up from your graves. I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I, the Lord, have spoken it and performed it,” says the Lord.’ ”

Commentary; Our Father God promised to bring the Jewish nation back to their homeland, and He did. He promises to raise all of those genuine believers up when His Son Jesus returns, and He will.

Psalm 66:11

You brought us into the net; You laid affliction on our backs.

​

Commentary; Our Father God will punish those who ignore His commandments, instructions and precepts very harshly!

1 Peter 3:8-9

Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous; not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.

​

Commentary; Genuine Christians are commanded not to repay evil with evil, but to forgive those who sin against them. When they do, they will receive blessings.

Psalm 66:18

If I regard iniquity in my heart, The Lord will not hear.

​

Commentary; Prayer requests by a person who has not yet forgiven those who have sinned against them, may find that their prayers are not fully answered until such time as they forgive others.

1 Peter 3:13-17

And who is he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good? But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.” But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed. For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.

Commentary; When someone genuinely places their faith and trust in our Lord Jesus, The Christ, they will find themselves protected from attacks by others.

Psalm 66:20

Blessed be God, Who has not turned away my prayer, Nor His mercy from me!

​

Commentary; Our Father God will never forsake those who genuinely believe in His son Jesus, The Christ, and follow Jesus' precepts.

1 Peter 3:18-22

For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit, by whom also He went and preached to the spirits in prison, who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water. There is also an antitype which now saves us—baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, angels and authorities and powers having been made subject to Him.

Commentary; Our eternal salvation was assured as Jesus, The Christ, was resurrected on the 3rd day following His crucifixion as a propitiation of all of mankind's sins, and Who now sits at the right hand of God, His Father.

Psalm 67:4

Oh, let the nations be glad and sing for joy! For You shall judge the people righteously, And govern the nations on earth.

​

Commentary; Everyone will face judgement during the final days. Those who have accepted Jesus, The Christ, as their Lord and Master, and who follow His precepts, will spend eternity with Jesus, our Father God, and the Holy Spirit. Those who don't will spend eternity in Hell, eternally separated from our Father, His Son, and the Holy Spirit.

1 Peter 4:7

But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers.

​

Commentary; Only Father God knows exactly when Jesus will return. At that time, everyone will face judgement. Those who have accepted Jesus, The Christ, as their Lord and Master, and who follow His precepts, need to make sure that they remain steadfast in their faith, and not fall away until His return. Those who haven't accepted Jesus yet need to change their ways or they will spend eternity in Hell, eternally separated from our Father, His Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Psalm 67:7

God shall bless us, And all the ends of the earth shall fear Him.

1 Peter 4:9

John 14:15-18

“If you love me, obey my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. And these things they will do to you because they have not known the Father nor Me. But these things I have told you, that when the time comes, you may remember that I told you of them.

Commentary; Our Lord Jesus, The Christ, has promised that all who genuinely love Him, and follow His precepts will face persecution, but if they persevere, they will also spend eternity with Father God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit!

Psalm 72:13

He will spare the poor and needy, And will save the souls of the needy.

Commentary; Our Lord Jesus, The Christ, came to redeem the souls of all human beings. He has a particular affinity for those who are oppressed.

Hebrews 13:17

Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.

Commentary; All genuine believers in our Lord Jesus, The Christ, are commanded to respect and honor those who are in positions of authority.

Psalm 72:14

He will redeem their life from oppression and violence; And precious shall be their blood in His sight.

James 2:5-7

Listen, my beloved brethren: Has God not chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him? But you have dishonored the poor man. Do not the rich oppress you and drag you into the courts?  Do they not blaspheme that noble name by which you are called?

Psalm 72:17

Commentary; Jesus commands all genuine believers in His sovereignty to always follow through and do what they have promised to do. Anything less than that is from Satan.

Psalm 22:30-31

A posterity shall serve Him. It will be recounted of the Lord to the next generation, 31 They will come and declare His righteousness to a people who will be born, That He has done this.

Commentary; The glory of the Lord will be revealed to every generation.

Matthew 5:38-39

“You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.

Commentary; The Lord instructs everyone to seek peace, even in the midst of anger.

Psalm 24:3-5

Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord?  Who may stand in his holy place? The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol
or swear by a false god. They will receive blessing from the Lord and vindication from God their Savior.

If anyone wants to sue you and take away your tunic, let him have your cloak also. And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two. Give to him who asks you, and from him who wants to borrow from you do not turn away.

Psalm 29:3

The voice of the Lord is over the waters; The God of glory thunders; The Lord is over many waters.

Matthew 5:43-48

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

Revelation 5:1-3

And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals. Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose its seals?” And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it.

Matthew 5:25-26

Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are on the way with him, lest your adversary deliver you to the judge, the judge hand you over to the officer, and you be thrown into prison. Assuredly, I say to you, you will by no means get out of there till you have paid the last penny.

Commentary; The Lord commands everyone to settle their differences before going to court.

Psalm 50:4-5

He shall call to the heavens from above, And to the earth, that He may judge His people: “Gather My saints together to Me, Those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.”

Commentary; Written approximately 1,000 years before Jesus was born, Jesus' coming was promised. The judgement will commence once Jesus returns.

Revelation 5:8-10

Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.  And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth.”

Commentary; Jesus, The Christ, is the only One worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals.

Psalm 50:7

Luke 1:19-20

And the angel answered and said to him, “I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God, and was sent to speak to you and bring you these glad tidings. But behold, you will be mute and not able to speak until the day these things take place, because you did not believe my words which will be fulfilled in their own time.”

Commentary; If the Lord tells you that He will be doing something in your life, you'd better believe Him.

Psalm 104:13

1 Thessalonians 4:13-14

But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.

And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.

Commentary; The Lord loved each of us while we were yet still sinners.

Psalm 138:7

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch out Your hand Against the wrath of my enemies, And Your right hand will save me.

Ephesians 5:3-5

Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

Ephesians 5:22-24

Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord.  For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.

Commentary; The Lord promises eternal support to those who genuinely believe in Him, and who genuinely follow His precepts. He presents as faultless to the Father every genuine believer.

Isaiah 66:22

“For as the new heavens and the new earth Which I will make shall remain before Me,” says the Lord, “So shall your descendants and your name remain.

Romans 2:25-29

For circumcision is indeed profitable if you keep the law; but if you are a breaker of the law, your circumcision has become uncircumcision. Therefore, if an uncircumcised man keeps the righteous requirements of the law, will not his uncircumcision be counted as circumcision? And will not the physically uncircumcised, if he fulfills the law, judge you who, even with your written code and circumcision, are a transgressor of the law? Jeremiah 7:5-7

“If you really change your ways and your actions and deal with each other justly, if you do not oppress the alien, the fatherless or the widow and do not shed innocent blood in this place, and if you do not follow other gods to your own harm, then I will let you live in this place, in the land I gave your forefathers for ever and ever”

And Jesus said to him, “See that you tell no one; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”

Commentary; The Law mandated that a Leper, claiming to have been healed of his illness, present himself to the priests to be proclaimed "clean". Jesus chose to heal this person, but Jesus did not come to abolish the law. He promised to fulfill it.

“The Lord your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as he did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes, and in the desert. There you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place”.

And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.” And his servant was healed that same hour.

When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses.”

Commentary; Hundreds of years earlier, the Lord promised to heal those needing to be healed, which He then did. The Lord always does what He promises to do.

Joel 1:19

O Lord, to You I cry out; For fire has devoured the open pastures, And a flame has burned all the trees of the field.

Commentary; The Lord created everything. Therefore, everything is His.

Matthew 8:28-29

When He had come to the other side, to the country of the Gergesenes, there met Him two demon-possessed men, coming out of the tombs, exceedingly fierce, so that no one could pass that way. And suddenly they cried out, saying, “What have we to do with You, Jesus, You Son of God? Have You come here to torment us before the time?”

Zechariah 8:6

This is what the Lord Almighty says: “It may seem marvelous to the remnant of this people at that time, but will it seem marvelous to me?” declares the Lord Almighty.

Commentary; The Lord's thoughts are far above those of man. Man can't even imagine the extent of the Lord's thoughts.

Matthew 8:30-32

Now a good way off from them there was a herd of many swine feeding. So the demons begged Him, saying, “If You cast us out, permit us to go away into the herd of swine.” And He said to them, “Go.” So when they had come out, they went into the herd of swine. And suddenly the whole herd of swine ran violently down the steep place into the sea, and perished in the water.

Commentary; The Lord is sovereign over all, even over demons.

Zechariah 8:7

This is what the Lord Almighty says: “I will save my people from the countries of the east and the west. I will bring them back to live in Jerusalem; they will be my people, and I will be faithful and righteous to them as their God.”
