Matthew 24:36-39
“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.
Commentary; When God's children begin straying from the path He wants them to be on, He begins to discipline them until they return, just like a worldly father disciplines their children. If a person never receives correction from Father God, then they should closely examine their walk with Him as we all stray occasionally. God's correction in our lives show us that we are His children, that He loves us and wants us to prosper according to His plans, not according to ours or the world's.

Commentary; A person cannot earn their salvation, no matter how many good works they might do, salvation can ONLY be achieved by acknowledging that Jesus is The Christ, the only begotten Son of the one and only living God, the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob, and that He was born of the virgin Mary, was crucified, and then rose from the dead to sit at the right hand of the Father. Once a person understands this they then will naturally begin doing good deeds as a result of their salvation.

Then all peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they shall be afraid of you. And the Lord will grant you plenty of goods, in the fruit of your body, in the increase of your livestock, and in the produce of your ground, in the land of which the Lord swore to your fathers to give you. The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow. And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them. So you shall not turn aside from any of the words which I command you this day, to the right or the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

But many who are first will be last, and the last first.”

For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

But these, like natural brute beasts made to be caught and destroyed, speak evil of the things they do not understand, and will utterly perish in their own corruption, and will receive the wages of unrighteousness, as those who count it pleasure to carouse in the daytime. They are spots and blemishes, carousing in their own deceptions while they feast with you, having eyes full of adultery and that cannot cease from sin, enticing unstable souls. They have a heart trained in covetous practices, and are accursed children. They have forsaken the right way and gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; but he was rebuked for his iniquity: a dumb donkey speaking with a man’s voice restrained the madness of the prophet. For when they speak great swelling words of emptiness, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through lewdness, the ones who have actually escaped from those who live in error. While they promise them liberty, they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by whom a person is overcome, by him also he is brought into bondage. For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them.

2 Peter 1:2-4
Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Commentary; Despite being born with a sin nature, those who genuinely believe in our Lord Jesus, The Christ, and follow His precepts, will spend eternity with The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit, whereas those who don't genuinely believe in, nor follow Jesus' precepts, will spend eternity in hell, separated forever from The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.
2 Peter 2:4-11
For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment; and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly; and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly; and delivered righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked (for that righteous man, dwelling among them, tormented his righteous soul from day to day by seeing and hearing their lawless deeds)— then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment, and especially those who walk according to the flesh in the lust of uncleanness and despise authority. They are presumptuous, self-willed. They are not afraid to speak evil of dignitaries, whereas angels, who are greater in power and might, do not bring a reviling accusation against them before the Lord.

Commentary; Those who do not accurately teach the word of our Lord Jesus, The Christ, will be severely punished, they will spend eternity in hell, eternally separated from The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.
